Learn the parts of a schooner

The Spirit of South Carolina is a sailing classroom, a pilot schooner that takes groups of middle and high school students on educational trips around Charleston Harbor and beyond. ETV partnered with the Charleston Maritime Foundation to create a companion website for the Spirit, including this diagram that helps students learn the parts of the vessel.

I created the tour in Flash, using blueprint drawings of the ship during its construction. Students can explore the outside of the vessel and learn about the rigging and each of the sails, and explore a cutaway view to learn about the areas of the ship below deck.
